The fishing season in Chilean Patagonia runs from mid-October to early May. The summer months (January and February) offer warmer, more stable weather, while the beginning and end of the season are the ideal times to target the most elusive trophy trout.
It’s not strictly necessary. Although many anglers prefer to use their own equipment, at the lodge we have high-end rods, reels, lines, and waders available for our guests, as well as an exclusive selection of flies tied specifically for our rivers.
Absolutely not. We design tailor-made experiences for each guest. Our professional guides are trained to instruct novice anglers, teaching everything from basic casting to reading the river, ensuring a successful and memorable day.
The main connection point is Balmaceda Airport (BBA) in the Aysén Region. Once you land, our private team will be waiting to provide you with an exclusive, safe, and scenic ground transfer directly to the doors of our facilities.
Yes, Wildfly Patagonia is a complete experience. Those who choose to stay away from the river can enjoy our outdoor expeditions (trekking, horseback riding, wildlife viewing) or relax in our lodge with wellness experiences, southern cuisine, and hot tubs.
The Patagonian climate is unpredictable and can experience all four seasons in a single day. We suggest packing according to the layering system: thermal base layers, quick-drying clothing, and a good waterproof or windproof jacket. Upon confirmation of your expedition, we will send you a detailed guide with all the recommended equipment for your maximum comfort.
Yes, at Wildfly Patagonia we have an unwavering commitment to the conservation of our ecosystems. We operate under a strict catch and release policy in all our waters, using flies with barbless hooks to ensure the protection of wild trout populations and the sustainability of the southern environment.
